David LaMalva is one of the premier Metro Atlanta criminal defense and DUI attorneys. He fights tirelessly for his clients, using his 20+ years of legal experience, relationships and knowledge to achieve the best possible resolution to their problems.

David maintains a comprehensive criminal defense practice representing individuals charged with a wide range of serious offenses. His experience includes cases involving drug possession, distribution, and trafficking, as well as violent felony charges such as kidnapping, assault, battery, murder, and manslaughter. He has handled complex property crimes, including theft and arson. In addition, Mr. LaMalva is highly regarded for his work in DUI defense, representing clients accused of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs,.

During his career defending criminal charges and DUI charges, David has built relationships with judges, prosecutors, clerks, court personnel and law enforcement. All know David is a man of his word and not afraid to fight for his clients when they are overcharged or wrongly accused. David also strives to educate his clients on each part of the legal process so they are prepared every step of the way.

David is a former Board Member for Georgia Legal Services and the Rockdale Hospital Foundation. He was selected as a member of Leadership Rockdale, a program of the Conyers-Rockdale Chamber of Commerce. He currently serves as a Board Member for the Conyers Housing Authority and the DeKalb Technical College Law Enforcement Academy Advisory Board. He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia’s Criminal Law Section, the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the Rockdale and Newton County Bar Associations.

David is a native of Rockdale County; he graduated from Heritage High School and received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Georgia in 1986. Upon receiving his Juris Doctorate from the University of Georgia School Of Law, David was admitted to the bar in 1989. He began his legal career working in private practice and then joined the Rockdale County Public Defender’s Office as an assistant in 1993. In 1995, he was appointed to the position of Public Defender and served in that capacity until 1997.
