David J. Kramer is a seasoned attorney bringing more than 33 years of experience to his practice in criminal and family law. Known for his aggressive yet strategic advocacy, Mr. Kramer is highly motivated to achieve the best possible outcomes for his clients. Over the course of his career, he has tried numerous high-profile cases in Michigan and across the United States, earning a reputation for thorough preparation, courtroom confidence, and unwavering commitment to those he represents.

Mr. Kramer’s criminal defense experience is extensive and distinguished. He has not lost a jury trial since 1992 and has successfully defended clients facing some of the most serious charges under state and federal law, including second-degree murder, criminal sexual conduct, assault with intent to do great bodily harm, operating under the influence causing death, major drug offenses, and a wide range of felony and misdemeanor matters. His practice also includes defending clients charged with reckless driving, assault and battery, and complex drug crimes, including large-scale narcotics cases. His criminal practice has taken him well beyond Michigan, as he has handled criminal matters in 15 states and in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.

In the area of family law, Mr. Kramer has handled hundreds of divorce cases and is particularly well known for his ability to resolve matters efficiently through settlement when appropriate. At the same time, he is a proven trial lawyer who has tried more than fifty divorce cases with an exceptionally high success rate. His family law experience spans 14 states and includes complex, high-stakes matters.

He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan in 1988 and his Juris Doctor from Wayne State University Law School in 1991. He is admitted to practice before the Michigan State Bar, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, the U.S. Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

A lifelong resident of Oakland County, Mr. Kramer currently resides in the City of Novi and remains deeply connected to his community. He is an active member of Prison Fellowship, a nonprofit organization dedicated to ministering to incarcerated individuals and their families, and is also a member of the Free and Accepted Masons of the State of Michigan, Farmington Lodge 151.
